Ancient Egyptians
This term in history, we will be learning about Ancient Egypt's fascinating history: how they lived, what they believed in and the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb. The children will be able to explore Tutankhamun's tomb with a virtual tour! We will also be fundraising to book the amazing history storyteller Steve Manning to finish off our learning in Autumn 2.

This term in Music, our project will be exploring South American instrumental music. We will be learning about how to improve our playing through techniques and dynamics using percussion instruments. The children will learn more about percussion from our visit from the Bideford Pipe Band!

In Art this term, we will be exploring still life and the work of Paul Cézanne. Children will develop their skills to create their own still life image. We will be visiting the Burton Art Gallery to look at still life paintings to understand different techniques and styles.

This term in Geography, we will be looking at European biomes. Children will be exploring different countries in Europe: looking at climate and differences in physical geography in comparison to the UK.

We know how important it is for our children to be IT literate. This term in computing we will be:

- Using our word processing skills to type up our story in literacy; change font, font size and typing skills

Each week your child will receive a homework sheet: 10 spellings, a short reading extract with 3 questions and 6 maths questions.
We would love for you to read with your child every day. This could be sharing a book together, listening to your child read or reading to your child. We would like reading at home to be an enjoyable and shared experience.
